THE WALL
|
Marbled roll call Scribed in stone, Whose life do you reflect As you stare past the living?
Those on your face already rest. Legions more live, Carry their burdens of memory. You are not forgotten.
Others still die but cannot claim A place upon your marbled bed. Just as surely They deserve your comfort.
They too have shed Their innocence or blood, But could not die on time. Instead they wander among us ....
Will they survive Only my memories And fade with my ashes When I join their ranks of history ...?
