The Vet and the Moving Wall |
|
|
He stood there silent and proud Covered with sadness Like a new fallen snow.
His eyes, they tell a tale Of the Warrior's curse Hidden beyond most Save those who've paid In mind or blood.
I think he mourns For youth, life, faith ordalian And names forever branded In marble memory.

The wall he avoided Now comes to him. Excuses beckon no more Voices cry out inside.
Peace long fought Is no longer negotiable As tears ease a burden Shouldered Much as his pack was.
